o2 unlimited question and answer

Recently we received the following question from one of our Twitter Followers.

Please could you assist me? I have just bought an O2 pay as you go phone.  I have some questions about O2 unlimited.

  • If I join O2 unlimited and then at some time in the future miss topping up by a minimum of £10 what happens. Will I need to re-register for O2 unlimited or do the unlimited text/calls just recommence once I top-up again?
  • Do I need to register other O2 numbers that I would like to send unlimited texts/calls to or does this apply to any O2 number.
  • I have a friend who is currently on a different tariff providing them with 500 free texts to any network. If they transfer to O2 unlimited and find that this tariff does not suit their usage profile, will they be able to switch back to their original tariff.

We allways try and give a full detailed response for any questions we receive, below is our response.

Thank you for emailing Pre-pay-as-you-go with your questions.

We will definitely be able to advise you regarding your query.

The free allowances that you receive are always added on your anniversary date and not every time you Top-Up your phone. If it happens that you forgot to Top-Up your account then you won't receive your free allowances, so next when you Top-Up that will be your new anniversary date.

On O2 Pay & Go you don't have to Top-Up every month to keep your account active. If you do want to get one of the free allowances every month, then you'll need to Top-Up every month. However if you just want to use your phone when you need it, you can do that. You would simply just Top-Up the phone when you needed too.

You will still be on your same O2 Unlimited tariff and don't need to re-register, if you don't Top-Up your account. In the meantime you won't receive your free allowances. To receive these free minutes you'll need to Top-Up your account.

In the O2 Unlimited tariff, you receive unlimited calls and texts to O2 numbers when topped-up with £15. To receive only unlimited texts to O2 numbers then you need to Top-Up with £10. You don't need to register any O2 numbers, it is for all the O2 numbers.

If your friend changes to the O2 Unlimited tariff then he/she can always change back to their original tariff, provided they are on the new updated tariffs. Darren, this is because we no longer offer old tariffs.

O2 recently updated their tariffs so they all offer a greater flexibility in the amount of allowance you can receive each month.

I hope these answers help!
