Mobile phone questions and answers

Ever since we set up our Twitter page last year www.twitter.com/prepayasyougo we have been receiving questions from followers about everything you could imagine, PAYG, Contracts, Handsets, specifications, How to top up the list could go on and on.
Some of the conversations with our followers have been extensive and hopefully ended with a full answer to their questions; but some of the questions we receive have required an answer based on opinion. This type of question would be someone requesting advice on which handset is better or which handset would you buy etc
Obviously here at pre-pay-as-you-go we try not to be biased when giving advice but with so many questions being requiring our opinions we thought why not put the questions to our visitors to get a true unbiased answer.

View Article  Touch screen mobiles are they reliable and main stream?

What was your first experience of a touch screen mobile, where you happy with it or was it unresponsive to the touch or over sensitive? My first experience was the LG Viewty and within the first five minutes of using it I knew I was in for trouble.

The responsiveness of the touch screen was sluggish and the mobile it’s self had limited options and software pre installed, overall a pretty poor handset which I eventually sent back to Orange.

My next attempt at using a touch screen was the LG arena, initially its touch screen was a huge improvement over the viewty’s and it was filled with absolutely loads of features. But possibly to many as a week after receiving it the screen started to freeze and I would have to take out the battery to turn it off. The same problems materialised even after exchanging the handset for a new one,  two times, I must admit this has coloured my view of the touch screen mobile ever since.

That said though I have managed to get to grips with my wife’s Samsung Tocco Lite, but as I’m on contract and she’s on pay as you go it’s not a phone I would consider upgrading to.

With my upgrade date quickly coming upon me I’ve been toying with the idea of trying a touch screen mobile again, but that would mean abandoning my old trusty Nokia n95 8gb which hasn’t failed me yet, and with touch screen seeming so main stream now and there being so many to choose from I’m not sure what handset to choose.

I’ve even considered getting an Iphone 3GS but as I don’t need or want to use apps how useful would it be without them, apart from the obvious calling and texting?

Touch screen phone

So I guess I’m asking for you who is reading this your opinion as to what handset to upgrade to, I have considered the Nokia x6 I suppose it would be a logical upgrade from the N95, it has twice the internal memory at 16gb and of course a larger screen which is touch sensitive but that’s it I think. Both are wifi enabled, GPS and Bluetooth etc so again I’m unsure.

Anyone’s opinion is welcome

Thanks to the pre-pay-as-you-go blog for posting my question.

Thanks to Andrew thomas from Coventry for sending in this Question to our readers, we hope you get some helpfull responses.
