T-Mobile for sale

T-Mobile's withdrawal from Phones 4U and Carphone Warehouse is it a cost cutting exercise. Or is this the end for T-Mobile UK?

News T-Mobile has all but withdrawn from Phones 4U and Carphone Warehouse makes interesting reading, but only increases speculation over it's future sale.

At first, it would appear the move is a blow to independent retailers, who have angry customers walking away from stores because they can’t get T-Mobile products. But what kind of customer does T-Mobile really attract? except for a couple of Android handsets, T-Mobile handset exclusives hardly compare to the likes of the Iphone on o2 or the Blackberry bold on Vodafone.

Would its withdrawal from the mobile retail market realy impact anyone?

Could T-Mobile's absence be useful, and create a gap in the market for a newcomer or the remaining networks to figth over?

What should retailers make of it? It could be a chance for them to pick up some slack. More likely, however, a network clamping down on acquisition costs will pull out of it's other poor performing markets.
