The buzz that is always generated by the release of a new iPhone always gets the world wondering what sort of wacky and unique new innovations will be included on their new release. But the iPhone 5s will likely catch many by surprise with Apple choosing to make their new smartphone much more efficient and faster rather than dazzling everyone with new features.
iPhone 5s – New ideas and More Power!
The new device comes loaded with new hardware to power the phone and upgrade the camera, while there has also been room for a couple of new ideas such as a fingerprint scanner and iTunes Radio.
Like any new design, Apple has boosted the performance of the iPhone 5s to eclipse that of its predecessor. The smartphone still contains the A7 processor from before, although it has had its capacity doubled to 64bit. Which allows it to run powerful apps much more smoothly than last year’s incarnation.
iSight looks to make camera a bigger part of the show
Having originally helped to make cameras a major part of modern smartphones, Apple had fallen a bit behind with their camera in recent years. However, the 5s now comes with the new iSight camera which contains a f/2.2 lens which can capture images at 8MP, which is certainly welcomed albeit still a little behind the likes of Sony and Nokia.
Apple have also included 2 small LED’s within the camera to help improve the lighting in each picture, and there is a new burst mode which can snap 10 frames a second, which will certainly provide one decent shots on a night out.
Welcome Touch ID and iTunes Radio
As many of the rumours had suggested, the iPhone 5s does also come with a biometric fingerprint reader, that owners can use to increase the security settings on their phone.
The sensor, dubbed Touch ID, is located within the Home button and is capable of scanning someone’s fingertips to authenticate access into the phone or any purchases from The App Store. Another Apple debutant, iTunes Radio will also debut on the device, it is destined to be one of the highlight features on the iOS 7 upgrade, to be launched worldwide on the 18th September.
Making use of the back catalogue, iTunes Radio is set to have over 200 preset channels and will also allow users to create their own radio channels for free on the web or on the phone.
Arrival not too far away
Apple fans won’t have to wait too long to get their hands on the iPhone 5s, as it is expected to be released across the world on the 20th September.
Even if it doesn’t bring in monumental new changes to their line-up, Apple has looked to consolidate and improve many of the basic aspects of the iPhone to ensure that the entire brand can continue to evolve, and please everyone and not just those looking for the flavour of the month.
