Alcatel the company which designs and develops a wide range of products presented its new elite smartphone model the one touch 995 ultra (part of its 2012 smartphone and cellular collection) at the consumer electronics show (CES) in Las Vegas recently.

Known for its modern, fun and elegant handset designs Alcatel hope that its new ONE TOUCH range of handsets can meet the lifestyle needs of its customers, from those who are focused on digital entertainment to those who use their smartphones for work.

The one touch 995 ultra offers all the advantages of a high-end device together with a modern functional design, features are to include

• 4.3 inch capacitive touchscreen
• 1.4GHz single core processor
• 5 megapixel camera with flash and auto-focus
• HD video recording and playback with HDMI port
• One Touch 3D UI interface1
• One Touch Share enabling users to access and share any content from their mobile phone
• HSPA (3G) and Wi-Fi connectivity
• Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread operating system, upgradeable to 4.0 Ice cream sandwich as soon as possible

There’s no news as to whether the One touch 995 will be available in the UK yet, but if you go by how well Alcatel have been doing in the low to mid range UK handset markets. It’s about time they stepped up to the big time and at least attempted to compete with the likes of HTC and Samsung.

As for price late last year before the CES unveiling of the handset there were rumours that the 995 would be priced at around €200 ($276) price tag which is an excellent price for a large screen Android smartphone.
