Mobile interactive group (MIG) has announced the launch of the My O2 Android app. Previously only available on Apple iPhones, the new version of the app will enable O2 pay as you go and pay monthly contract users to securely access their account information on Android Smartphone’s.

The new app has the same features as the original iPhone app but also features a simplified ‘Help’ section and new ‘Extras’ section which gives the user relevant information regarding customer loyalty offers such as O2 Priority and other O2 offers.

As an added bonus the app also gives users the ability to monitor their own data usage, as well as manage their data bolt-ons.

The original My O2 iPhone app was released in 2009 and has since had two million users download it. With the new Android version O2 has brought the App up to date and increased its usability and reach to reflect the recent popularity in Android mobile devices.

As a pay monthly or pay as you go customer you can see:

• How many minutes, texts and data you have left in your allowance as well as what you have used.
• Your tarrif details.
• Calling plan prices
• Bolt Ons as well as the ability to top up or pay as bill.
• Help section offering hints and tips to get the most from your phone and FAQs about billing, as well as tariff information and more!

Pay monthly customers can also view

• Recent Changes.
• Bill summaries – including last bill date, bill amount and payment due date.
• And the ability to buy data Bolt Ons when all of a customers data allowance has been used.
